It wasn’t until 1993 when Nintendo released TLL in the Super Mario All Stars collection for the Super NES. The gameplay would be vastly different from The Lost Levels because of how it played. Instead, Nintendo would release a different game called Doki Doki Panic in 1988 with Mario characters replacing the official ones. However, the game was never released in North America because of its difficulty at the time. Unlike the original, the sequel would get a slight graphical upgrade and have new features presented. It was originally released in 1986 for the Famicom’s Disk Drive and followed the same structure left from the first. The title I’m talking about is The Lost Levels and it was a game exclusive to Japan as Super Mario Bros 2. Welcome to a new edition of Retro Corner Reviews and since we are still covering Mario let’s check out a more infamous one.
